Who we are Consolidated Research, Inc. (CRI) is an engineering research and development firm based in Northeast Ohio. The technical personnel within CRI have extensive engineering experience in academia and industry. Areas of technical expertise include: signal-processing; mathematical and computer modeling; and real-time algorithm development. CRI has strong affiliations with medical and scientific personnel with expertise in many areas including sleep medicine, neurology, pulmonology, and anesthesiology.
Integrity – Our work is honest and complete. Responsibility - We make commitments with care, and then live up to them. Detail Oriented - Success or failure is usually a function of having a thorough understanding of details. Problems and unexpected results are diligently pursued until they are understood and resolved. Creativity – We apply solid engineering knowledge and expertise to produce novel solutions.
For 15 years, CRI has focused on the development of unique EEG-based (electroencephalographic) technologies. These technologies have been developed for use in clinical and research sleep medicine and military human performance monitoring. In addition to developing medical technologies, CRI has performed contract research for such companies as the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), Eaton Corporation (Advanced Manufacturing Technology Group), Reliance Electric, Rockwell Automation, and many others. CRI has developed a set of advanced real-time algorithms for tracking the full spectrum of human consciousness ranging from normal alertness through the various stages of sleep and unconsciousness. CRI currently has patents, both issued and pending, on these EEG-based technologies. CRI's EEG technology is currently at the core of an FDA approved intraoperative EEG monitor.
CRI's 6 R&D steps 1. Problem identification 2. Experimental design, execution and data collection 3. Signal analysis and EEG feature extraction 4. Development of real-time algorithms for detection, tracking and classification 5. Development of real world solutions 6. Licensing and Post-Licensing Support
Starting in early 2001, CRI became involved in the field of wake/sleep detection and insomnia treatment. Since that time, CRI's major focus has been on the research and development of an EEG-based insomnia treatment device and the underlying technologies.
Drawing from over 50 years of combined experience in EEG signal processing and algorithm development, CRI conducts contract research from concept through execution, and develops and licenses advanced technologies. Whether your needs take you into one of three CRI-affiliated hospital operating rooms or our 2,000 sq-ft state-of-the-art research sleep laboratory, we can make your next project a success.
